Karosta
paths summary
Karosta is a place full of paths. They can be found near the buildings
and in the forests. What make Karosta paths interesting is that the town
plan is somewhat “broken”, because there are houses that are
not used or even ruins. People starts to use different kind of routes
to go to places they want, they can for example walk through a house ruin,
make it a new way of going to a certain location. They might even stop
using an official, paved street if there is more logical route to the
place.
Karosta has been a war harbour and is a part of Liepaja city. Since the
Soviet military left Karosta, there have been a lot of abandoned buildings
and infrastucture.
The paths were mapped in summer 2003.
